Winter is just around the corner! And if you are thinking about a career change, or are a highschool grad that took some time off and are now ready to pursue an education in the skilled trades, this is the perfect time to get your gas fitter's license in Ontario.

Kick off the new year with a new career

Everyone has New Year's Resolutions, and kickstarting your new career right after you ring in the new year. When you are starting fresh, starting as close to January 1st makes the transition easy. Because so many people choose to make lifestyle changes — like eating better, exercising more and kicking bad habits — on January 1st, it is easier to roll everything into one. Make it your resolution to start getting up earlier and going to school and commiting time in the evenings to study to coincide with whatever other resolutions you have made.

Spring and summer job availability

While you may think that Gas Technician jobs in Ontario are at their peak availability in the winter, don't forget that Gas Fitting is a year round career. Once you are fully licensed, spring is a great time to get started in your new career. Once the weather gets warm, you'll be busy installing gas appliances as people renovate their kitchens, hooking up natural gas BBQs as homeowners get ready for grilling season, and installing pool heaters as the winter covers come off!

And if you are considering upgrading your training from Gas Technician to HVAC Technician, you can use the time during air conditioning season to start to learn the ropes!

You want to be indoors anyway!

Once the snow hits, and we all know it will soon, you probably won't want to be spending too much time outside. So, by going back to school in January, you will know where you will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day: inside a state-of-the-art classroom, learning the ins and outs of your new career!
